Recycled Hanging Garden Part 1

Recently the Environmental Club started the project of making a Hanging Garden (see “Plastic Vertical Herb Garden” here) out of recycled materials! This week, we built a lattice framework from local bamboo and wire that we found around the school. Our next task is to fill our recycled “plant pots,” made from old yogurt containers and water bottles, with a soil-manure mixture and plant our seeds! The pots will hang from our lattice frame on a seldom-used door outside the RLS Library. We are going to use a seed packet from our Gardens for Health International field trip, and graft some flowers from around the RLS campus.

Check out the photos of our completed bamboo lattice frame, built by the “Environmental Engineers,” Ezekiel, Bosco “Cow,” Denis, Claude, and Katie!

Stay tuned for Part 2.
